For more than a decade, LaRue Wines’ proprietor and winemaker Katy Wilson has been deoted to showcasing small lot Pinot Noir and Chardonnay sourced exclusively from some of the top vineyard sites on the Sonoma Coast. The name, LaRue, pays tribute to the bold and independent woman who inspired Katy’s entrepreneurial spirit: her great grandmother, Veona LaRue Newell. In 2020, Katy’s husband, David Meneses officially joined the LaRue team full-time as the Director of Sales. A veteran of the hospitality and wine industry, David is a certified sommelier and has served as wine director for several prestigious restaurants in Miami and San Francisco. With his experience in distribution and in the tasting room, David has been an integral addition to the family business. Guided by a steadfast, non-in- terventionist winemaking philosophy that champions the land, Katy leaned into her pas- sions with the debut of LaRue Wines in 2009. Featuring elegant and restrained Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from respected vineyards across the Sonoma Coast, LaRue Wines thrives today as an ultra-premium, 500-case brand. Katy and David continue to personally craft each bottle of LaRue wine from grape to glass. From hauling grapes, to punchdowns, to racking, it is their passion for making excellent wine that drives their intense involvement in every aspect of LaRue Wines. Alongside LaRue Wines, Katy works with several other projects. Currently, she makes wine for Anaba Wines, Reeve Wines, and Smith Story Wine Cellars.
