Jason Kesner isn't just a great winemaker, he's also an immensely talented vineyard manager.
In 2000, Jason was hired by Lee Hudson to oversee his renowned vineyard in Carneros. Farming that landmark vineyard and working with Chardonnay luminaries like John Konsgaard and David Ramey inspired Jason to make a wine of his own. In 2002 Kesner wines were born with a single barrel of Hudson Vineyard Chardonnay.
After several very successful years managing the Hudson Vineyard and turning heads with his extraordinary wines, Jason was hired, in 2008 to become the assistant winemaker and vineyard manager at Kistler Vineyards.
Needless to say, his stock soared.
Currently Jason produces four Chardonnays from the Sonoma Coast, Mendocino and Russian River appellations as well as a Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, a North Coast Grenache, and old vine Red Blend
In a world where "terroir" gets shamelessly tossed around, Jason's minimalist approach in the vineyard and non-interventional winemaking produce wines with an extraordinary sense of place.
